One squirming bundle of cuteness, wrapped up in a blanket and peering between two paws nearly the size of her face. Bristol laid her own face next to her pup's and looked up at us with contentment. Picture-perfect, the two lay there, side-by-side, mama and her mini-me. The pup wore her mother's puppy collar, freckles, giant paws, and inquisitive nose.
It would be a bittersweet moment to give her to her new owners, but we knew she would have a happy life. We will always cherish the memories of Bristol's first puppy: taking her outside to romp and run after her mama, taking her to new places where she paraded herself about and Bristol posed for pictures, taking her to friends who snuggled her and played with her, and taking her to her new humans who will love her as much as she loves them. We will miss her, but we are more than grateful for the wonderful new life she has and the opportunities she has to bless the world.
"Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love and loyalty. They depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog; it merely expands the heart."

The puppy we named Kinley now has a new name and a new home. Little Luna has settled in to the new sights, smells, and sounds, loving her new home as much as her first one. She will teach many more people of the treasured love and loyalty of a puppy.
