Our Mission

Berners loved by our family so they can be a lovable member of yours. 

We are a small, family-run kennel raising Bernese Mountain Dogs on our homestead in New England. We desire to raise our pups with love and care so that you can cherish one of our lovable Berners as well. Striving to better our skills as homesteaders and dog breeders, we are open to learn and share. 

Why Alpenglow?

Our family once lived in Alaska, where the phenomenon of the alpenglow occurs. The alpenglow is a fascinating illumination by the sun onto the mountains, casting warm hues of red, orange, gold, and purple, depending on the angle of the sun and atmospheric conditions. Usually, the alpenglow occurs in the morning before sunrise or in the evening after dusk. 

 

We were able to witness the alpenglow regularly and were in awe of the beauty spread across the mountains at the sight. When we first found the Bernese breed, their rugged mountain heritage spoke almost as strikingly as their markings as colorful as the alpenglow. As we fell in love with the mountains more than twenty-five years ago, so we fell in love with these mountain dogs five years ago. The colors of our beloved dogs that warm in our eyes and the colors they warm in our hearts paint the hue of the alpenglow.

We carry deep pride and love for our beautiful Berners and seek to share that with other owners.
